The Peanut Butter Players (1-0-0) took on a (again) very shorthanded White Lightning (1-0-0) in the early game. Unfortunately, the White Lightning didn’t catch… lightning in a bottle playing without subs again, as the PBP jumped out to a 4-0 lead seven minutes in to the game. Lightning newcomer Dan Parseghian notched his first ever league goal (in his first league game) to stop the bleeding, but the Lightning just didn’t have enough power to rally back. Final score: 9-3
Dan the Man’s first league goal for the Lightning for sure. Odds are the first of many says this reporter.
James Pelkey of the PBP wins the Greediest Player of the Week award with his 4 goals and ZERO assists. Let the other kids play, Pelks!
Lightning Leprechaun Lee Payne probably made around 40 saves. The score could’ve been WAY uglier without some spectacular netminding by the Lil’ One.
Big, Bad Norman Tran bookended the scoring for the PBP, scoring the first goal and the ninth goal for PBP.
The late game pitted the Blue Ballerz (0-1-0) Cobra Kai Floorball Club (0-1-0), both coming off tough one goal losses in Week 1. The Blue Ballerz came rolling out of the gate and held a 4-1 lead at halftime. Cobra Kai came roaring back in the second half. A power play tally by Fred Mustacchia pulled CK within one at 7-6 with two minutes to go. Again Cobra Kai pulled their goalie, but again they came up just short, not being able to get the tying goal.
Bryan Racher continues his strong play as a rookie, busting out with a hat trick in a losing effort.
Salty vet Fred Mustacchia banged home two goals as well.
Kyle “Big Red” Teders of the Blue Ballerz wins the Helping Hands award for the week with his three assists (see Pelkey, SOME people know how to share). He also tallied a goal.
Matt Flynn knocked in two big goals as well for the Blue Ballerz in their victory.
